Cambodia country quote - june 2023

By working with Harvest III, I can expand my work to bring renewable energy and new techniques that we have developed to help Cambodian agriculture and so that that women can participate.

Expanding Our Impact

Cambodia reached lower middle-income status in 2015 and aims to attain upper middle-income status by 2030. Yet inequality, poverty, and low levels of human development persist, exacerbated by COVID-19, global economic shocks, and climate change. Abt teams with Cambodian partners to tackle these challenges.

Through USAID’s Feed the Future Harvest III, we partner and co-invest with the Cambodian private sector to make agriculture more competitive, resilient, and inclusive. This project expands on the scope of the Abt-led Harvest II, which accelerated horticultural growth and increased producer incomes.

The Abt-led global USAID Local Health System Sustainability Project (LHSS) helps Cambodian partners plan, finance, and implement solutions for tuberculosis, HIV, and malaria. Through the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative VectorLink program, Abt strengthens Cambodian capacity for entomological surveillance and insecticide resistance monitoring to improve malaria control.
